FACTS:
FAQ's:
Q: Who submitted the proposal?
A: Optasite submitted the proposal on the behalf of T-Mobile. Optasite is a company that constructs and rents tower sites/space to Wireless carriers.
Q: What stage is this at? Has construction already started?
A: Construction has not started. The Connecticut Siting Council (CSC) has the ultimate authority to determine if the application is approved or not. There will be a hearing on September 9th in which the City of Danbury, Optasite, and the CSC review the application. The decision is made by the CSC some weeks following the hearing.
Q: Where would this tower be located?
A: It would be located at the back of the property currently owned by Christ the Sheppard Church, located at 52 Stadley Rough Road Danbury, CT 06811. (see it on a Google Map)
Q: I can't see it from my house why should I care?
A: We urge all residents to consider the location of this tower. The proposed location is within a dense residential area. The tower is proposed to be over 140 feet tall. It will be an eye sore. It will also affect property values for many of the neighbors. Is your neighborhood next?
Q: Was this open land?
A: This area is zoned residential and owned by Christ the Sheppard. The previous church signed a contract to lease the property, Christ the Sheppard Church can't void the contract, it came with the purchase of the property.
Q: What cell company is this for?
A: T-Mobile is the only commited carrierat this point.
Q: What kind of tower is it, can they make it look like a tree?
A: It will be a steel brown monpole tower. The tower will have antenna panels hanging off of it. The fake tree towers look just like that .. fake. They are ugly too!
Q: What do we need to do?
A: We need to send a message to Optasite. We are not against cellular technology, but we cannot allow towers to be constructed wherever they please. Take Action!
Q: Who are you?
A: We are a group of concerned neighbors that are outraged by this proposal. Want to help out too? Take Action! or Contact us
